This Women’s Fly Fishing class has been designed specifically for women and taught by the accomplished and charming Rachel Andras. Rachel has taught women’s classes for over a decade throughout the country and has the unique ability to translate both fundamental and advanced casting techniques to female students.We begin the day with the basics of tackle selection and assembly, and will impart to you an understanding of how a fly rod and line work together effectively. With hands-on demonstration and practice, you’ll learn how to form casting loops, change direction, aim accurately, and retrieve line. Throughout the day, we’ll intersperse your casting sessions with other important topics including entomology (bugs!), essential knots, reading the water, fly selection and covering the important aspects of safely playing, landing and releasing fish. You’ll enjoy a hearty lunch, as well as beverages.
